This class is designed for
those with little or no fly fishing experience, but with the desire to get their

on the water. Students do not need to have any gear to participate we provide
everything - this gives you a great chance to test drive some equipment before you take the plunge. A minimum of 4 students is required for the class to be conducted. Reservations are reqired to participate.
Class Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Class Duration: Three Evenings
Skill Level: Beginner +
Cost: $60.00
Fly Fishing Skills
Do you have trouble with tailing loops when you cast? Does you line seem to
just fall out of the sky? Or does the line crash to the water spooking all the
fish into the next county? Do you only fish dry flies because you never
learned to fish nymphs (and vise versa)? We can help. The classes will be one and a half to three hours in length and will start with classroom
time and then progress to the water. Our objective is to help you solve some of your common fly
fishing problems, maybe meet some new fishing friends and have a good time doing
it - all while enhancing your skills. A minimum of 4 students is required for the class to be conducted. Reservations are reqired to participate.
Class Time: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Saturdays)
Class Duration: One Afternoon
Skill Level: Beginner +
Cost: $35.00
Fly Fishing Strategies (Seasonal)
Spring is the time when many anglers hold out to wait for more hospitable stream flows. However, there is surprisingly good fishing
on many of our local streams during the high water. This time of year is also a great
time to sharpen your skills and maybe learn some new tactics on waters that provide very unique (and very fishable) conditions. Therefore, we are offering a special class designed to sharpen
your fishing skills this spring. Topics will include, reading the water,
choosing the right leader/tippet combinations, combating drag, and much
more. Remember if you put in the time now, those fish won't stand a chance throughout the summer! A minimum of 4 students is required for the class to be conducted. Reservations are reqired to participate.
Class Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Class Duration: One Evening
Skill Level: Intermediate +
Cost: $25.00
Matching the Hatch
This topic accounts for the overwhelming number of
questions that we receive in the shop. Here's the skinny - the smallest part of
your tackle is actually the most important - at least as far as the fish are concerned. All too often we hear people say that they saw fish feeding and threw
everything in the box but couldn't get a take. It is very
frustrating for me to see people struggle with this topic daily - especially when the
solution is relatively simple when you are armed with a little insect knowledge.
Learn how to make fly decisions based upon the time of year, stream conditions you are
fishing, weather conditions, and where you are standing in a river.
Class Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Class Duration: One Evening
Skill Level: Intermediate +
Cost: $25.00 - Includes "Hatch Guide to Western Streams"
